About the Inn


The Fyfe Family welcomes you to the Candleberry Inn on Cape Cod, a traditional bed and breakfast inn built in 1790. This graceful Georgian-style home is a centerpiece of the quaint New England Village of Brewster, and is included in the National Register of Historic Places. It's "square rigger" design is accented by a beautiful fan window over the front entrance. The Inn's charm is further enhanced by its central location on the Old King's Highway, close proximity to Cape Cod Bay beaches, and by the 2 acres of award winning lawns, flower and herb gardens which surround it.

The Candleberry Inn on Cape Cod has been home to statesmen, sea captains and strong women, as well as the 19th Century American author, Horatio Alger. Authentic historical warmth and charm characterize the interior of the inn with its wide pine floors, hand blown "bubble and waves" glass windows, wainscoting, and working fireplaces throughout. Our six Main House guest rooms and two Carriage House rooms also offer all modern conveniences and amenities. Each sunny room has a private bath, cable television, air conditioning and comfortably elegant furnishings. Four of our rooms have working fireplaces and one is a two-room suite. A second floor deck overlooks the back gardens from our Carriage House, and a shady brick patio off our 1790's Dining Room offers a lovely spot to read or relax with a glass of wine or cup of mulled cider, in season. Your enjoyment is further insured by the fresh flowers you'll find in your room, luscious chocolates, hair dryer and elegant complimentary toiletries. Beach chairs and towels are available, as is a guest laundry service.

Breakfast at the Inn

Start your day with one of our delicious full breakfasts, served on the garden patio or in our quaint 18th Century dining room. Enjoy watching the hummingbirds and orioles who return yearly to delight our guests. Aromatic coffee, teas, cereals, home baked pastries, fresh fruits and juices, as well as the Innkeeper's special menu choice of the day, will keep your appetite satisfied!
